Hello and welcome!
I am a fellow Perthian girl, born and raised in the small city in Australia. I have always enjoyed home cooked food when I was younger (especially pingiepoo’s mum’s cooking!) but was always a slow eater. For the longest time no one ever thought I ate much or had much of an appetite. I had a bad experience when I was younger of trying to eat too fast so ever since have come to be content with my eating pace and really tasting each mouthful. Once I began working I soon discovered the other world of eating out and all the lovely food there is out there!
So…I may just be another foodie in the huge realm of cyberspace, but just like any of them I want to share my experiences, attempts and failures and overall enjoyment of food. Family gatherings have always revolved or ended with food and you never left anyone’s house hungry (even if you ate beforehand). With my friends, we discovered the world of baking some few years ago and have now expanded into cooking entrée, mains and desserts. Dinner parties seem to be a popular way of getting together and sharing our love of eating good food.
I was stuck on names for a blog and ended up coming with this. Yes, it is supposed to be based on the ‘pie in the sky’ expression or whatever it is that you call it but incorporating my unhealthy love for chips – I don’t mind the good shoe string fries as well though! Despite my obsession with chips and all things potato, I actually love, love, love fresh vegetables and fruit. I have been brought up with very fresh fruit and veggies from a young age (fresh from the farmers, not the supermarket) so have come to appreciate most of our healthy friends.
I am not a writer – in fact, quite far from it – so forgive me if some things don’t make sense. I will try to edit things prior to posting, but in some cases, I might have to come back and edit it after posting. I am also blogging from my experiences and my opinions, and I share this with everyone so that you can make your own judgement, even if it conflicts with mine. If you don’t like what I have to say, you can either say so and why or press that cross in the right hand corner.
